Specimen Film

Chuck Fryberger has been directing films for over ten years. While the bulk of his work has showcased the sport he loves - climbing - he has also delved outside this genre. His film Synesthesis was awarded a position in the Young Filmmakers Showcase by the Denver Film Society. Chuck's fascination with the sport of climbing stems from a love and understanding of the sport. Chuck is a member of the Cloudveil, Scarpa, and Black Diamond Athlete teams, and has done V13 boulder problems and 5.14 routes as fast as two tries. While Specimen is a solo effort Chuck has teamed up with Bennett Scott for two of his recent projects: Friction Addiction, which showcases new bouldering in the historical Black Hills of South Dakota, and A Colorado Daydream, which takes viewers on a mind-bending trip through the state's best bouldering areas. Chuck graduates from CU Denver in December 2006 with a degree in music technology. Specimen is Chuck's 9th feature film.
